07/23/07 The City of St. Petersburg’s City Council
Pays a Visit to Alvarez Photography Studios
This past Tuesday, July 17th,
members of St. Petersburg’s City Council visited the Jorge Alvarez photo
studio located at 150 22nd Street South. Mr. Alvarez recently
relocated his photography studio from Tampa to St. Petersburg’s Dome Industrial Park area. Jorge is a renowned commercial photographer who has traveled
all over the world for various catalogue and print shoots, including the
Venus Swimwear catalogue.
The newly constructed state of the art
digital photography studio is approximately 6,000 square feet and includes
indoor, outdoor, and roof shooting spaces as well as editing and printing
facilities.
Mr. Alvarez along with his wife Suzanne and
Manager Chris Snipes welcomed the council members into their studio where
they were given a tour of the facilities and shown the cutting edge
techniques and equipment Mr. Alvarez and his staff are using to create
their exquisite photographs.
In addition to his catalogue and print work,
Mr. Alvarez has also photographed many area notables, including, Tampa Bay
Buccaneers head coach John Gruden for GQ Magazine, current major league
baseball outfielder Johnny Damon for his book cover, and former New York
Yankee centerfielder Bernie Williams.
