St. Petersburg’s City Council Pays a Visit to HSN
This past Tuesday, June 17th, 2008, members of St. Petersburg’s City Council visited HSN (Home Shopping Network) located at 1 HSN Drive. Council Chair James Bennett, Herb Polson, Bill Dudley, and Wengay Newton were
hosted by Mark Ethier, Executive Vice-President and Chief Operating
Officer; Brian Feldman, Vice-President of Administration; Kimberly Lahey,
Executive Assistant; and Katherine “Kif” Feller, Marketing
Assistant/HSN Campus Relations.
HSN is available across all media. Its TV network is the 4th
largest cable network in the United States, and hsn.com, ranks in the top
30 of the top 500 internet retailers. HSN is a lifestyle network and retail
destination that offers a unique assortment of over 30,000 products to the
90 million households that it reaches. HSN.com is available across the U.S. and has over 40,000 products to choose from. HSN’s annual sales have now reached
the $3 billion mark.
HSN’s 55,000 square foot corporate headquarters campus is
located on 66 acres and is a cornerstone of our Gateway business area. HSN
employs approximately 2,500 people at its headquarters and is one of St. Petersburg’s largest employers. HSN employs a total of 4,000 people nationwide
between its headquarters and three product fulfillment centers throughout
the country. These fulfillment centers ship approximately 53.5 million
products per year.
All aspects of HSN’s business operations, except product
shipping, take place at their headquarters. This includes customer service
calls, employee training, technology and logistical support, corporate
business functions, as well as all program filming and production. The HSN
campus has nine television studios for product segments, including a brand
new state of the art outdoor studio. All of HSN’s programming is
unscripted and is filmed here in St. Petersburg. A variety of notable personalities
and celebrities come to HSN to launch and sell their products including Wolfgang Puck, Todd English, Emeril Lagasse, Gordon Ramsay Colin Cowie, Suzanne Somers, and
Lauren Hutton.
