Here are just a few things that are coming up in St. Petersburg!

The Aveda Institute in St. Petersburg will be raising money to support the beauty industry workers who were displaced by hurricanes Katrina and Rita last year.  With the assistance of Aveda Salons throughout the St. Petersburg market, you can schedule to get a haircut, manicure, pedicure, facial, massage and/or waxing at reduced prices on Monday, March 13th, from 9am to 5 pm.  All monies raised that day will go to the Salon and Spa Relief fund.  Call 727-820-3199 for an appointment.

The City of St. Petersburg Business Assistance Center will sponsor a “Marketing for Success” workshop on Tuesday, March 21st from 6pm to 8pm.  The workshop will cover topics including:  How to define and market your business, Marketing Plans, and Marketing and Advertising tips.  Space is limited so call today 727-893-7146 to reserve your seat.

On Tuesday morning, April 18th the Tech Councils of the St. Petersburg Area Chamber of Commerce and the Clearwater Chamber of Commerce along with WorkNet Pinellas and the Economic Development organizations of Pinellas County and St. Petersburg will be hosting a special program on the Space Industry in Florida – what it’s doing these days and how businesses can get involved.  Location and a time for the event will be announced soon.

Don’t forget that it’s Spring Training for Baseball.  So if you think you need a day in the sunshine that includes pop-corn and a hot dog, consider attending a Ray’s spring training game at Progress Park on the waterfront in Downtown St. Petersburg.  To purchase tickets or view a schedule click here

Finally there is the Honda Grand Prix of St. Petersburg which is just around the curve.  This year we’ll see if Dan Weldon, the St. Petersburg resident, can take home the first place trophy two years in a row.  It might be tough, and there will be plenty of indy car racers up for the challenge!  Catch the Grand Prix March 31st through April 2nd on the downtown waterfront.
