at Awards Ceremony
Last Thursday, nine development projects located in St. Petersburg vied for eight awards given in the Tampa Bay Business
Journal’s Best Real Estate Deals of 2005.

In total these projects – ranging from
high-tech industrial to first-class luxury living – represent $600-million
in private investment in the city, and the creation and retention of nearly
1,000 jobs. “This magnitude of investment is a testament to the
attractiveness of the St. Petersburg market to investors and business
owners,” noted Economic Development Manager Cindy Margiotta.
A few words on the winners…
400
Beach Drive is one of two Opus South
projects in downtown. This project will feature a 316-foot contemporary
structure with 91 condominium units surrounded by a low-rise structure
consisting of retail frontage on Beach Drive and 4th Avenue North.
The new All Children's Hospital is a $300-million, 240-bed
project that when complete will be home to more than 140 pediatric
specialists and sub-specialists under its nearly one million SF of space.
Whether residential or commercial, industrial or retail,
Gateway or Downtown or Midtown, these projects exemplify the attractiveness
of St. Petersburg as a great place to live, work and play.
