11/14/05 The Pinellas Education Foundation
The Pinellas Education Foundation is an advocate for
public education and raises community support for Pinellas County
Schools. They strive to help create a superior educational system to
ensure that Pinellas school children remain competitive in an increasingly
global marketplace. This is accomplished through a broad range of programs
that provide the private sector with effective, accountable and
results-oriented methods to join with the school district to create higher
performance schools.
For the first time, the Foundation will begin offering a
one-hour program to educate the public about the Foundation and how their
programs impact the 115,000 students and 8,000 educators in Pinellas County
Schools. Their goal: to show how you and your organization can get involved
and make a difference in the lives of our students. Pinellas Education
Foundation 101 sessions are brief introductory events concluding with a
tour of Enterprise Village. If you or your business would like to
learn more about the Foundation by attending a Pinellas Education
Foundation 101 session, please contact Allison Broihier at 588-4816,
ext. 32.
Another way you can help the Foundation is to visit a Barnes
& Noble in St. Petersburg or Clearwater from November 25 through
December 4, 2005. When you make a holiday reading purchase, a contribution
will be made to the Pinellas Education Foundation for each book and gift
purchased (excluding gift cards, membership and food) using the special
Pinellas Education Foundation voucher. What a great way to do your holiday
shopping and support a good cause.
